About the space
The heritage structure is a 100 year old cottage which was renovated in 2015. The previous owners of the property used to live here. We have tried to retain most of the old structure and settings - like red oxide flooring; low main door. The bathrooms have been modernized (obviously !) - and have added a UPS and also TV in the living room (which is a passage, really). In the winter the house is warmer than the outside and in the summer it is cooler inside. :) - by design - no AC or heater !
There are double beds in each room - so when selecting the place for more than 4 guests - please make sure you have figured out the sleeping arrangements. 6 guests have easily been accommodated in the past - but I wanted to make sure it was mentioned here.
Guests Access
You will have access to the entire property to walk and trek around - almost 60 acres of coffee plantation. If you want to have a camp fire - you have to let us know in advance - and this is chargeable.
Other things to note
Lunch and dinner will be provided ONLY on request. The reason we ask for advance notice is because food is prepared fresh at our own kitchen (not restaurant!) - and we buy produce fresh - on demand.
For Vegetarians the is charged Rs.200/- per person per meal and non-veg Rs.250/- per person per meal. In case you would like to get pork (pandi curry - coorgi specialty) - let us know in (more) advance so that we can organize the best meats for you (Rs.300 per person).
Please note that LATEST timing for lunch is 2 PM and dinner is 10 PM. Hope you can appreciate this is not like a commercial restaurant (which also have timings !) and that the caretaker needs to get a good night's sleep - and doesnt work in shifts !! If you request a meal and are not able to make it - you will be charged for the meal. Hope you understand - we do not run a restaurant where there is 24 x 7 service. Its a homestay :-)
Please note: As of Jan 2017 BSNL works best on the property. Airtel is next best (with spotty coverage in parts); Vodafone is next best !
